Dear Valued Customers and Partners:
This is an update on our previous newsletter dated March 17, 2020. I write to assure our customers and partners that, as long as it helps the community as a whole, we will remain operational. We have seen an influx of requests for emergency building supplies and infrastructure support because of Covid-19. We are here for you. Employee and community safety remains the utmost priority.
Much has changed in the past few days. New York has mandated non-essential business closures and workforce limitations. However, there are exemptions for construction, including hardware and building material stores, and for other essential infrastructure support. Our products are essential for repairing critical exterior and interior building elements and to enclose building envelopes, ranging from single-story homes all the way to hospitals and affordable housing buildings. Our products are used not only to maintain and improve interior conditions, but also overall building security. Likewise, on a federal level, as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security memorandum titled, “Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During COVID-19 Response,” issued on March 19, 2020, Gamco Corporation is an Essential Business that may continue to provide needed services at this time. Please note that you should not rely on our position to qualify your own exemption status, as this varies by locality and business type.
Gamco will continue to operate while following best practices guidelines from the CDC and local state and city guidelines. At this moment, our primary supply chains have not been affected. We also want to be proactive in scheduling the most essential projects first and will prioritize orders that are critical to sustaining the health and wellbeing of the community. Please let us know of any changes with your operations that may prevent you from accepting our deliveries.
With the above being said, please note that this situation might change. The safety of the Gamco team and its employees is imperative. I applaud my team for continuing to work during this trying time. I am sure, as with your business and throughout the nation, some of our team members may choose the option to stay home to take care of loved ones. Gamco shall continue to work around our employees’ schedules, and if this leads to potential delays of product, we ask for your patience during these challenging times. Our counter sales representatives and managers are also instructed to exercise social distancing from customers, and we ask that, if possible, you communicate via email.
