PROJECT HIGHLIGHT – Renaissance Chelsea Hotel (Skylights)

Overhead skylight with hanging lantern fixtures.

112 West 25th Street, New York, NY

GAMCO Corporation created and fabricated a custom 5-ridge skylight system for the entrance to the new 37-story Renaissance Chelsea Hotel at 112 West 25th Street in Manhattan. The skylight arcade spans the entire front of the hotel to create a private European-café style sheltered seating area adjacent to the sidewalk. The overall skylight system spans 67′ by 12′-10″.

GAMCO worked with the project architect Stonehill & Taylor to design the skylight system and accessories to facilitate on-site glazing and installation. All extruded aluminum rafters are reinforced with stainless steel tube inserts.

The rafters and installation components were fabricated by GAMCO in dark bronze finish to match the storefront and ground floor windows. GAMCO also supplied the hotel’s main entrance and vestibule, interior folding glass walls, and exterior balcony doors for the banquet floor spaces.
