For all donations made through 12/31/2024 up to $75,000, GAMCO and C & C Doors and Frames committed to match 1:1, ensuring Heart of Dinner can continue outreach to vulnerable Asian American older adults in need through the winter and beyond.
Through the course of the event, the goal was over 100% reached, with over 200 donations totaling around $79,500 for their mission. Including the matched amount, $154,500 in total was contributed, equivalent to over 5,100 care packages, each filled with 2-3 days worth of meals.
What is heart of dinner?

Heart of Dinner (爱心餐), a non-profit organization, seeks to feed New York City’s aging Asian American population in need of groceries or hot, culturally-thoughtful foods.
Heart of Dinner brings together volunteers and community members to help prepare and assemble care packages in spaces provided by local partners. Each week, care packages filled with nourishing food—sourced from small, local businesses—are packaged in in hand-decorated bags and paired with handwritten notes of love in the recipients’ native languages, fostering a deep sense of connection and care for Asian American Elders living with food insecurity across New York City.
Founded and run by Yin Chang and Moonlynn Tsai in 2020, the goal has always been to honor community Elders with “deeply personal, dignified, and culturally nuanced care, thinking of each beneficiary as they would their own grandparents.” Heart of Dinner has since been featured in numerous publications such as Time, Vogue, NBC and ABC news, Ellen, WSJ, and Fortune. The couple were also named Glamour Women of the Year.

Environmental Contributions

In 2024, GAMCO pledged a $5,000 donation to the Environmental Defense Fund, an organization that consults experts in various fields to seek ethical, science-forward, and bold strategies to combat climate change and “strengthen the ability of people and nature to thrive.”
Their recent work includes reducing methane emissions, improving water supplies and food growth practices, reducing flood risk, and increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining these initiatives.
Hand-in-hand with GAMCO’s commitment to sustainability and finding the best fenestration solutions for people and the environment, this contribution will help the EDF’s mission to maintain healthy communities and protect our Earth for years and generations to come.
